Event catering
- What is the minimum order?
- It depends on the package. Boxes start at 25 people, long table buffets at 40, and the wedding package at 100. Under 25 we usually suggest private dining instead, which often works out better anyway.
- How far do you deliver?
- Up to 35 km from our catering kitchen in Sanur. Free within 15 km, then Rp 15,000 per km. That covers Canggu, Seminyak, Umalas, Ubud, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua. Past 35 km we say no, because hot food does not deserve that drive.
- How far ahead do I need to book?
- Seven days minimum, and 14 days over 100 guests. For the busy stretch from late June through August and again in December, our slots usually go 6 to 8 weeks out.
- Can we taste the food before committing?
- Yes. A tasting is Rp 450,000 for two people, five dishes of your choosing, and the cost comes straight off the invoice if you book. For weddings over 100 guests, one tasting for four people is free.
- What if the guest count moves?
- Up to three days out you can add as many as you like and we bill the difference. After that we can still take a 10% increase, because the shopping is already done. For ceremonial events we always cook at 1.15 times the number you gave us, so there is usually room.
- How does payment work, and what deposit?
- 50% to lock the date, the balance no later than three days before the event. Bank transfer to BCA or Mandiri, QRIS, or card. There is always a proper invoice and receipt, and we issue a tax invoice if your company needs one.
- What if we cancel, or it rains?
- Cancel more than 14 days out and the deposit comes back in full. Between 14 and 7 days, half comes back. Under 7 days it is gone, because the shopping is committed. Rain does not stop the event: for wedding packages we require an agreed wet weather plan in writing 14 days out, so nobody is improvising on the day.
Private dining in villas
- What do you bring to the villa?
- Every ingredient, our cookware, serving plates, glassware and cutlery. All we use of yours is the stove, the fridge and the water. Chef and two service staff arrive at 15.00 for a 19.00 dinner.
- My villa kitchen is small. Still possible?
- Usually. The smallest we have worked in had two burners and one small oven, and we ran seven courses for 14. The trick is part-preparing some courses in the Sanur kitchen. Send a photo of the kitchen when you ask and we will tell you honestly whether it works.
Eating with us
- Is there wifi, parking, and room for kids?
- Wifi at all three, free, and sockets at most tables except the long middle one. Parking: Canggu has 12 scooter bays plus car help in the side lane, Ubud has its own yard for 6 cars, Sanur is street parking plus the hotel lot next door after 18.00. High chairs at all three, and Sanur is the most family friendly room.
- Can I book a table? What about groups?
- Under 8 people, just turn up. Eight and up, book on WhatsApp, it is free and we take groups to 30. Over 30 it becomes an event, so we would quote you the long table package instead.
- Are you halal?
- We do not hold a halal certificate and we will not claim one. The Ubud and Sanur kitchens cook no pork at all and alcohol stays at the bar. Only the Canggu kitchen cooks babi guling. For catering we can run a fully pork free and alcohol free menu. If your event genuinely requires a certificate, we will say it straight: we are not your vendor.
- How many events can you still take this month?
- The catering kitchen caps at 18 events a month and private dining at 4 villas a night. We will tell you exactly how many slots are left when you message, including when the answer is none.
